7. What Does A Successful Installation Look Like?
8. Should I Put Down A Weed Barrier?
Depending on the project, a weed barrier might not be a bad idea. If you do not need the project to be permeable, you can put one down. The weed barrier could result in your Howell Pathways pathway stabilizer sealing the barrier and preventing water from flowing through. Consult with one of our experts if you are unsure about installing one for your specific project.
9. Can We Apply Howell Pathways Material On Flagstone Or Other Surfaces?
Yes, but it is suggested to contact a representative before applying it to a non-traditional surface, as the application will be at your risk. Some customers have painted the Howell Pathways material on flagstones to make the color the same across the project. Painting reduces the risk of pooling on the stone. Pooling can leave a thick layer of Howell Pathways polyurethane sealant that will not be clear. You can wipe down with a rag using plastic or latex gloves so no pooling of material occurs.
10. Can You Repair Howell Pathways Sealant?
Yes. It is much easier to repair than our competitors’ products such as concrete, asphalt, or other paving materials. Simply clean the surface, remove problem area, add necessary stone, and apply the Howell Pathways material.
11. Are Howell Pathways Environmentally Friendly?
Yes, Howell Pathways cures to an inert substance. It will not leach into the surrounding environment and it causes water runoff that is clean and clear. Additionally, no heavy machinery or caustic chemicals are used to apply our gravel stabilizer.
12. What Is The Coverage Rate Of Howell Pathways?
Each job is different. Contact us and we will help you decide what coverage rate is most appropriate for your project. Typically, a commercial path uses one gallon per 12 square feet of surface with 3" of aggregate greater than 3/8" or larger. A driveway generally requires one gallon per 10 square feet of surface with 5" of aggregate with a mix from 3/8 to 1 1/2" for best compaction in pounds per square inch (psi).
